brown-eyed girl
who sits on the sidewalk
every day
after school
waiting for her friends
who never come
she speaks quietly
I am the
hazel-eyed girl
who searches for
true love
but finds only sharp
shards of broken heart
scattered everywhere
I am the
violet-eyed girl
who sits in her bedroom
with an easel and
a mind full of swirling
thoughts
her imagination full to
the brim
ready to pour onto the canvas
I am the
gray-eyed girl
who sits ramrod-straight
in her chair
never taking her eyes from
the board
serious and quiet
always alone
I am the
green-eyed girl
who lounges in the
sunshine
and then relaxes in
the spring shade
with a good book
I am the
blue-eyed girl
who runs wild and free
in the summer sun
into the cool forest
where no one can catch her
amongst the green trees
she gazes at the brilliant sky
and laughs
